Blepharitis is a common eyelid condition which results in discomfort, irritation dry or watery eyes.  It contributes to development of eye lid cysts also known as Chalazion or Meibomian Cysts. We treat Blepharitis with wide range of treatment options from home based to bespoke in-house packages including manual meibomian gland expression and BlephEx R. Keeping blepharitis controlled will reduce the likelihood of developing eye lid cysts and long term changes which may affect external eye health and vision.

BlephEx TM is recommended for management of dry eyes, blepharitis and Meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD).

Ptosis is a medical term for droopy eyelid.

Ptosis can be due to various causes from congenital (present at birth) to acquired (contact lens wear, lid rubbing, age related, neurological or trauma). 

Our practice offers all types of ptosis surgery (scar free) in combination with blepharoplasty. 

Depending on individual needs and underlying factors surgical plan is discussed which may involve scarless posterior or anterior approach with blepharoplasty.

Ectropion is a condition of the eye lid where the lid margin is turned away from the normal position and the eye.

If the lid is turned inwards, the condition is termed entropion.

Both conditions may lead to recurrent eye infections, watery and sore eye, exposure keratopathy (corneal changes) and even permanent ocular damage if not treated promptly.

 It is important to seek advice regarding options for treatment including surgery and botulinum toxin injections.
